Winter Fashion Trends to Look Out For 2024

As we enter into October, the winter jackets are officially defrosting, and winter fashion is coming back for the year. Many fashion enthusiasts may argue that this time of year is their favourite for outfits, as you can layer, wear boots and big coats and wear darker colours (a personal fave of mine).

A huge trend we have seen in 2024 is the return of trends from the 90s fashion era. One huge trend to look out for is double denim (an extremely popular trend from the 90s/00s). Wearing denim jeans/ trousers with matching denim tops or jackets will be extremely popular this winter. Some people may even mix and match their denim colours too, however dark denim will be especially popular in the winter months.

Bear in mind the rise in sustainability for fashion companies too, so making sure you’re selling denim that is sustainable and made from recyclable products could be a great niche for your company over competitors.

Leopard Print

This has been a key trend for the whole of 2024 and will continue to be one in the winter. From leopard fur coats, leopard gloves and scarfs, leopard jeans and even leopard shoes! It is everywhere and if your brand isn’t jumping on this trend, you’re missing out big time. This print is a true statement piece to anyone wardrobe and if you’re not selling leopard pieces, your competitor certainly will be.

Cherry red

Following up from the leopard print, cherry red is the perfect combination with that. Red is the IT colour for this winter, especially dark cherry red. Not only does this work so well with leopard print, but it is a great Christmassy colour, and you can expect to see this on many Christmas nights out, as well as on many accessories.

If you’re going to focus on any specific colour for a new range this winter, red is definitely one to consider!

The knee-high boot

Last year we did see a rise in cowboy boots, but in 2024 we are going back classy and seeing a rise in knee high leather boots. If your fashion brand sells shoes, boots are a must for the winter season and knee-high boots will be most popular amongst customers.

You can create leather boots in any colour you fancy, and by sticking to popular colours such as cherry red and black may help boost your sales massively this winter.

Blazers

The love for blazers never left and continues to be a huge trend in 2024. Winter will see blazers everywhere and with every outfit. Whether you want to wear it with a dress, jeans or even joggers, you can dress up and down your blazer however you please. It has commonly been known as a staple work piece, but we have seen the rise in blazers for nights out too (it will be very popular for Christmas nights out), and now we see many wear them to dress up any day-to-day outfit.

Many fashion retailors’ have brought out blazer collections, of many colours, styles and materials and even just adding one or two designs to your winter collections may be a great idea.
