We have brilliant news! This month TikTok have finally announced that UK Shopify merchants can connect their online store to sell products on TikTok Shop using the ‘TikTok for Shopify’ app.

This means that all brands, no matter how big or small, can begin to sell their products to the TikTok community, without having to leave the platform. As TikTok grows, it is not only looked at as an entertainment app anymore, and now is looked at as a shopping platform too. TikTok shop has grown massively over the past year and an increased number of brands are utilising it to sell their products.

 

The Rise in TikTok

Launched in 2016, TikTok is a popular social media platform that allows users to create short-style videos. It has over 1 billion users worldwide.

TikTok’s impact has been extraordinary as it has become the new ‘search engine’ for all needs. With more than 1 million videos viewed per day, users are using TikTok to find answers to their questions every day. It is now the easiest way to get your brands name out there as your videos show up on the FYP of people all over the world.

TikTok will now offer Shopify merchants the ability to connect to the TikTok Shop through an app available on the Shopify app store. It allows users to create TikTok ad campaigns, attach their product catalogue, sell products by attaching them to videos and allows you to create LIVE broadcasts. Shopify and TikTok being integrated isn’t a new thing, it has been growing since 2020, but this is an exciting new milestone for their collaborative journey. It was first tested in the US in 2023 and now it is available in the UK from this month.

We have seen the impact of TikTok shop through several small eCommerce businesses who have managed to turn generate more than 7 figures of revenue. Companies such as SoSweet and Pink Honey, have taken advantage of TikTok shop and managed to grow their businesses massively.

Huge brands such as Loreal and Revolve also use TikTok shop to sell their products as well as connecting with their audience via entertaining videos.
